Breakfast at the Kisatchie National Forest E-1 bald eagle nest looked ready to begin on March 9, 2026. Two bream fish had been brought in for the young eaglets, and for one brief, perfectly normal moment, everything seemed to be going according to plan. Then one floppy fish leapt from the Kisatchie nest like it had just remembered an appointment somewhere else.
